DOOMPRIEST

Doompriest is one of the top epic passive healers and cleansers in Raid Shadow Legends. She removes a random debuff from allies and heals them by 7.5% of their HP every turn. If you’re primarily using Doompriest for her passive ability, you can save books by not upgrading her other skills. To maximize her passive, equip her with Relentless gear to trigger extra turns, allowing her to cleanse more effects. This will also help you cycle back to her Increase Attack skill [A2] more frequently, even if you decide not to book its cooldown.

ALURE

The primary reason to use Alure is for her Psychic Whip ability. This triple-hit attack is one of the best Turn Meter control skills in the game, reducing the enemy’s Turn Meter by 25% with each critical hit. Upgrading this skill with books only increases its damage, so as long as you meet the accuracy requirement and build her with 100% crit rate, the reduction will consistently occur [granted you don’t weak hit]. She excels against the Fire Knight, Dark Fae, and in shield strategies for the Scarab King.

OCCULT BRAWLER

This toxic ogre is one of the classic poisoners in the game. This powerful passive requires no books to activate and is one of the primary reasons players build this champion. MADAME SERRIS

This classic Halloween witch is one of the most powerful debuffers for her rarity. The combination of Decrease Attack, Decrease Defence, and buff removal in a single skill is rare, especially as a placement skill that guarantees no weak hits. In Arena battles, if you plan to use her Midnight Ritual [A2] as a setup, upgrading this skill may not be necessary, as there’s no percentage chance involved in landing the debuffs. However, if you rely on her as a primary debuffer for Dungeons and other content, reducing her cooldowns may be necessary.

CARDINAL

If you’re aiming to climb the ranks in Arena or seeking a strong reviver for Faction Wars or Doom Tower, Cardinal is an excellent choice. Her standout skill, Redemption, revives all allies and boosts their Turn Meter to max, allowing for instant turns. This powerful ability requires no books to activate. When equipped with Stoneskin gear, Cardinal can be the last one standing, ready to bring back fallen allies to nuke your enemies. However, if you rely on shorter cooldowns for other content, investing in skill tomes may be beneficial.

SKYTOUCHED SHAMAN

Skytouched is a powerful cleanse champion with one of the best healing passives in the game. The true value of this passive comes from the amount of HP she’s lost, and she damages herself by 10% every turn to enable greater heals. While books can increase this healing by up to 20%, it’s still highly effective even without them. Additionally, if you only need her A2 for the opening phase in Arena, you may not require the cooldown reduction to use it multiple times.

AKOTH THE SEARED

Akoth is the second fragment reward champion obtained from clearing the secret rooms in the normal Doom Tower. His highlight skill, Pyroclasm [A2], has a 20% chance of placing an HP burn, with the chance increasing by 20% for each alive enemy. Since this skill’s chance to land doesn’t improve with skill tomes, it remains effective in content like the Spider without needing upgrades. If you want a better chance to increase the cooldowns of burned enemies, boost the fear chances from his passive, or generate a greater shield, it may be worth investing in skill tomes.

VRASK

Like other champions on today’s list, Vrask has a powerful passive that doesn’t rely on books to be effective. His passive heals all allies by 10% of his MAX HP upon critical hits, making a 100% crit rate essential. Both of his active skills only gain damage increases from books, which isn’t Vrask’s strength, as you’ll primarily use his A1 to fill his turn meter.
